Get ready for the years biggest party at Universal’s Mardi Gras happening February 3 through April 7, 2018. Guests can come and experience a New Orleans style celebration complete with entertainment, delicious food, and so much more. Catch some beads, watch street performers and of course Universal’s famous rides.
The streets of Universal come alive with color as the Party Procession makes its way through the park. Street performers, stilt walkers, and colorful dancers whisk you away to New Orleans. The main star of the show is the extraordinary floats, the audience will be awestruck as these pieces of art come into view and fill the streets.
The floats are designed by Kern Studios, they are responsible for creating Mardi Gras floats for New Orleans Mardi Gras for 60 plus years. Confetti will fill the air and countless amounts of beads will fly during this wild parade. Catch tons of beads and enjoy the whole show. There are special viewing areas for annual passholders.
Catch the parade on select dates and times. February 6 the parade begins at 5:15. The parade begins at 6:45 pm on Feb. 4, 5, 7-9, 11-15. Then it will run at 7:15 on Feb. 16, 19-23, 25-28 and Mar. 1, 2, 5-9. On Feb. 3, 10, 17, 18, 24, Mar 3, 4, 10-31 and April 1-7 the show will begin at 7:45 pm. Find a spot on the streets of Universal Studios Florida and get ready to catch beads and doubloons by the handful.
Looking for a kid friendly parade viewing area. The Little Jester’s Parade Viewing Area is located in front of the Brown Derby Hat Shop. This area offers young guests a view without having to compete with taller guests. It is available one hour before the parade starts.
Food and Entertainment
Refuel with some delicious southern New Orleans cuisine in the French Quarter Courtyard, open every day after 4pm. The food is accompanied by Southern music. Try some spicy jambalaya, shrimp gumbo, red beans and rice, and more New Orleans fare. Save room for dessert and sample a famous New Orleans sweet melt in your mouth beignet.
While you dine enjoy soulful performers from Louisiana jazz, blues and zydeco bands. The French Quarter Bands include the Free Agents Brass Band performing Feb. 3-20. The Naughty Professor Brass Band will be there from February 2 through March 6 followed by the New Breed Bass Band March 7 through March 20.
March 21 through March 31 is when the Young Pinstripe Brass Band will be performing. Then on April 1 through April 7 guests can enjoy the music of the Dirty Bourbon River Show. With all the music, cuisine, entertainment and parade you will feel as if have walked right into the streets of New Orleans.
